Bansky a Venezia

Hi everyone,

Recently Banksy, (or at least his art) made a visit to Venice to set up an installation in Piazza San Marco and to graffiti a house. The installation in Piazza San Marco was removed by the police, and the future of the graffiti is uncertain.

As always, Banksy didn’t just make aesthetically pleasing pieces of art: his “Venice in oil” piece saw a large cruise ship blocking out the landscape depicted in most pieces for sale in Piazza San Marco, and his graffiti stenciled a child immigrant wearing a life vest, holding a pink SOS flare.

What do you think of these art installations? Should they be removed as they are technically illegal, or should they be left alone? Does Banksy have the right to make a comment on the situation in Italy? Does his status protect him from prosecution?
